The Giles County Partnership for Excellence Foundation, Inc., has been operating in the county since October of 1991, creating jobs, offering vocational training programs, sponsoring environmental opportunities, and developing civic leadership activities for youth as well as the under-employed and unemployed residing in local communities.
The Partnership, since its inception, has impacted the lives of thousands of youths and adults. Some of the specific programs it has been responsible for are: The School Resource Officers Program (SRO’s), Office on Youth; The Serve, Learn and Earn Program; the WIA Youth and Adult Programs; Environmental Science Water and Wastewater Operator’s Training; the Summer Youth Work Initiative; The Scholastic Excellence Through Community Service Program; developed a state model for service learning.
The Giles County Partnership for Excellence Foundation, Inc. makes a difference by providing housing for low income families.
“These, as well as many other initiatives undertaken by the partnership,” states Mr. Howard Spencer, “promote learning opportunities which help participants achieve their potential through cooperative alliances with individuals, families, schools, community groups, businesses, industries and government.”

Our accomplishments prove our commitment to our county. We care about our economy, our children's education, our environment, our business, and the health and well-being of our community.
This commitment has not gone unnoticed; the Giles County Partnership for Excellence was awarded the Horizon Award for the "Best Partnership" in the state of Virginia.
The Giles County Partnerships for Excellence Foundation, Inc. has recently announced a new project that J. Howard Spencer, Executive Director, states will create jobs, provide a significant donation to the Giles Technology Center, and consider the environmental needs and concerns of the New River.
